Bert Willaert

I was born in 1987, but I took until 2004 before I started photographing the more beautiful places on earth. The love for photographing came from the love for nature and the study about it. Because of my cruch on amphibians, reptiles and birds, these are also my prefered subjects to photograph. But lately, also other animal groups and plants get some more attention from me.Photographing a common species in a special way is a challenge. Mostly, over 75 % of the pictures I take, end up in the dustbin. And the challenge to make every time better pictures is always there...

Nature photography is a passion, just like rugby is, but at this moment, I'm spending most of the time being a student Biology at the University of Gent. In nature photography, knowledge about your subject is a big help to make better pictures. I would like you to have a look at the hundreds of pictures I made in the last year, close to my home, but also elsewhere in Europe.
