Dirk-Jan Saaltink

The book Chimpanzee Politics of Frans de Waal caught his interest for animal behaviour. The intriguing story and magnificent pictures encouraged him to study biology and buying a photo camera. From a friend he could by a Nikon F50 and a Sigma 170-500mm.

In 2004 he discovered forum natuurfotografie, a Dutch speaking forum about nature photography. Together with the nature photography course of Rollin Verlinde, this forum accelerated his passion. By buying a Nikon D70 in 2005, his photography got a boost. His future plans are to combine scuba diving and photography.
